I have been working as a quilt designer for 17 years with many publications in magazines, participating in international shows and solo exhibitions in Europe and teaching modern quilt design.
I have been addicted to fabric and fibres all my life, as well as colours and design. Since childhood I have felt the desire to create, paint, sew, knit and embroider. As a quilter, I dye my own fabrics and love to try Mixed Media techniques. Color is my credo. Therefore, my current exhibition is called “In love with color 2” alias „Farbverliebt 2“.
I was born in 1954 near Cologne, but my family moved to Euskirchen. After gradiation from high school in 1974, I intended to study interior design, but life had a different plan…
I have been living in Hennef, a small town south of Cologne, for 35 years. There I ran a shop selling patchwork fabrics and supplies up to 2007 and at that time I taught courses, especially in traditional techniques. After that I started working as a quilt designer.
