The Footprint of One T-shirt – Musical Performance by Vladivojna la Chia at the Brno Patchwork Meeting

Will your T-shirt last for twenty years? This year at the Brno Patchwork Meeting, we will raise awareness on sustainability and proper textile care in a very original way.
Musician Vladivojna la Chia will present her unique performance, "The Footprint of One T-shirt." The aim of the project is to highlight issues related to fast fashion, overproduction of textiles, recycling, and environmental impacts.
Every European produces about 12 kilograms of textile waste per year. Used textiles have become the subject of a global business, which most heavily impacts poorer countries in the Global South.
Vladivojna la Chia’s performance will present essential facts, figures, and key goals of Sotex in the fields of education and sustainability. It will also feature important systemic measures, such as the European eco-design regulation.
A pair of songs, with a grotesque and humorous exaggeration, will open the topic of ethics and ecology in the fashion industry. The performance will emphasize the importance of care labels and draw attention to proper garment care, which certainly does not mean greenwashing.
The performance "The Footprint of One T-shirt" will take place on April 26th at 2:00 PM at the program center of the Brno Patchwork Meeting. Come and see how art and data on fast fashion can be combined into a unique experience that will get under your skin.
