Explosia: Tradition and innovation in explosives production

Explosia was founded in 1920 as Československá akciová továrna na látky výbušné (Czechoslovak joint-stock company for the production of explosive substances) in Semtin near Pardubice. Since its founding, it has become a symbol of tradition and innovation in the field of explosives production. At IDET fair, they will present new product - SEMTEX Booster S – booster.
Tradition in explosives production
Over the decades, it has gone through significant challenges, but has always maintained its reputation as a reliable and qualified leader.
Today, as a 100% state-owned company, Explosia proudly holds the position of a key supplier of industrial explosives and ammunition, and with the help of the Fospol division, it also provides comprehensive drilling and blasting work, especially in open-pit mining of aggregate.
Another essential part of Explosia is the Research Institute of Industrial Chemistry (VÚPCH), which has been providing research and development in the field of explosives and ammunition for more than 70 years.
Currently Explosia a.s. has significantly increased investments in expanding production technologies with the aim of significantly increasing its production capacities, which is caused by the geopolitical situation.
SEMTEX Booster S – booster
Explosia will introduce the new product that we have entered into a prestigious prize of the IDET NEWS magazine at IDET 2025 - SEMTEX Booster S – booster.
The Semtex® Booster S is designed to enhance the initiating power of a No. 8 detonator or detonating fuse with a specific gravity of at least 12 g.m-1. No shortening or modification is permitted. The detonater must be inserted at least 15 mm into it, and the detonating fuse must pass through its entire lenght.
