Enter the competition at the 17th International Creative and Textile Exhibition Brno Patchwork Meeting with your textile works = quilts (three-layered textiles joined by stitching).

Creative competition: theme In Circle

Challenge for art quilters to interpretate this theme from a wide range of aspects using all possible textile techniques.

The quilt must be a three-layer sandwich with original design. Size 75–95 cm width and 100–120 cm height (no further tolerance!) Please add a 8 cm tunnel on the back side for hanging as well as author´s label with name, surname, quilt´s title and year of making.

Competition for in-kind prizes, judged by an international jury of experts (international gallery owners, lecturers and certified jurors).

Classical competition: theme Four Patch

The quilt top must be visibly based on the four patch block scheme and have a classical quilt quality.

Three layers quilt, sized 140-200 x 140-200 cm (10 % tolerance). On the back side a 8 cm wide tunnel for hanging must be attached as well as a label with author´s (authors´) name/names, quilt title and year of making.

Visitor competition: the general categories INDIVIDUALS - Czech or International

is open to any work that meets the definition of a quilt and does not exceed a maximum total size of 220 x 220 cm. Each quilt must be marked with the author´s (authors´) name, the quilt title and the year of making.

The competition is subsidized by in-kind prizes and is judged by a vote of the exhibition visitors.

All exhibits must comply with the principles of copyright law.

AUTHOR = individual or group of authors or club work.

Each quilt MUST have its own entry form and must be adapted for display on a panel (i.e. a minimum 8 cm wide tunnel must be sewn on the back for hanging). If the conditions are not met, the organiser reserves the right to reject, not exhibit or reassign the exhibit to another category.

 

The deadline for application is 21 March 2025.

The finished quilt must be submitted no later than 11 April 2025.
