EVPÚ Defence: New developments in the GLADIUS product line

March 29, 2025  /  10:30 AM

At this year's IDET trade exhibition, the EVPÚ Defence booth will be dedicated primarily to remotely controlled weapon stations, featuring several new additions to the GLADIUS product line.

GLADIUS: Universal weapon stations for modern combat deployment

The GLADIUS systems stand out for their compatibility with a wide range of platforms - from armored vehicles and naval vessels to fixed installations. The possibilities for integrating different types of weapons are constantly expanding. Currently, available configurations include a 7.62 mm machine gun, a 12.7 mm machine gun, 40 mm grenade launchers, a rotary gun, or a 30 x 113 mm cannon utilizing programmable ammunition.

The GLADIUS systems can also provide enhanced crew protection. They are remotely operated and can be equipped with armor that ensures ballistic protection up to Level 2. Additionally, the systems feature high-quality thermal imaging cameras, which are indispensable in low-visibility conditions.

Another valuable feature of the GLADIUS weapon stations is the fast and precise guidance of the weapon system. The electro-optical sight operates independently of the gun carriage, allowing for effective tracking of fast-moving targets and more accurate engagements in complex environments. Furthermore, the use of small-caliber ammunition (5.56–7.62 mm) minimizes collateral damage, making GLADIUS an ideal solution for urban combat.

GLADIUS weapon stations thus reflect current trends, bringing greater flexibility, efficiency, and safety to the modern battlefield.
