Czech mineralogists and collectors are well known for their rich occurrences in the Podkrkonoší region, where they have been collected for many centuries and amaze us with their beauty. The area is still providing new and new finds and the authors of the project, with the help of the prominent Czech collector Alexey Medikus, who is active in this area and belongs to the top of agate collecting in the Czech Republic, decided to present the most famous localities of Podkrkonoší to the visitors in the exhibition showcases this year. The exhibition in this breadth and variety of exhibited specimens will be exceptional in its quantity of presented agates (about 1000 pieces), but especially in the extraordinary quality of exhibited agates, which come from few private collections.
In addition to Czech agates from the Podkrkonoší region, the exhibition will also feature an exceptionally rich collection of agates from important world sites, which have probably never been presented in such a comprehensive form in the Czech Republic before.
