The International Food Fair was first held in Brno in 1974 and is one of the most traditional trade fair brands. The organisers aim to build on this exceptional fifty-year history with a fair in a modern format. The next edition will take place in 2026, when it will be presented in a new concept that takes into account current trends in the entire food industry.
The new concept will place particular emphasis on linking the exhibition with the programme and networking activities. "In the 21st century, the greatest value of trade fairs is face-to-face meetings. It is an opportunity to make personal contacts between people who would not otherwise meet in person. The show will therefore combine the traditional exhibition with the conference and use modern networking tools to facilitate as many interactions as possible between exhibitors and trade visitors. Our aim is to show trends in individual fields in one place and create ideal conditions for mutual inspiration and possible cooperation," says Lukáš Helan, Sales Director of BVV Trade Fairs Brno.
Recent editions of the fair have shown that the event attracts professionals from all over Central Europe, from restaurant and hotel operators to food manufacturers and suppliers. Surveys show that up to 77% of visitors have an influence on the decision-making process in their companies, and more than half of them hold managerial positions. The new show format aims to further develop this potential.
The International Food Fair has always presented all aspects of the food industry under one roof - from the latest technologies and food processing methods to the presentation and tasting of the resulting products. The organisers also intend to capitalise on the fact that Brno has become a renowned gastronomic destination in recent years, attracting visitors with unusual taste experiences. The fair will focus on topics such as modern trends in gastronomy, regional food, craft breweries and local winemakers. The link with Brno will underline the uniqueness of the fair and contribute to an attractive overall experience for visitors.
