A workshop that will get Ukrainian cities acquainted with the EU mission of climate-neutral and smart cities through the activities of the NetZeroCities platform and the first Horizon Europe project U-CAN led by the Technical University of Dresden. UCEEB CTU Prague will present the outputs of the CirCon4Climate project, focusing on the implementation of circular principles in the built environment, basic circular strategies and tools for circular design, circular public procurement and the concept of the material cadastre including its benefits in areas affected by disasters.

The originally purely environmental and then technological concept of smart cities has in recent years also had to cope with new economic and social challenges brought about by Industry 4.0, Society 4.0, demographic changes and other trends. Among the key problems that can be solved with the help of the development of smart cities are housing (in)availability, the problem of population aging, the economic and social sustainability of city districts and localities and, last but not least, digital literacy. For the successful implementation of smart city projects, the support of innovative financial instruments
is necessary as well. The presentation also refers to the outputs of TAČR projects.
