I’m Ada Honders from the Netherlands. I have been organizing the OEQC (Open European Quilt Championship) for 20 years. I’m a salesperson in fabrics for more than 25 years. I’m now coordinator for Quiltworx from Montana and making stunning quilts for exhibitions.

Once a year a retreat is organised for shopowners and teachers in Europe. During this retreat they are trained to paper piece the technique of Quiltworx® / Judy Niemeyer.

If participants have sufficiently mastered the techniques (according to the opinion of the European Coordinator Ada Honders) and can teach them correctly, they can be cerified as a Certified Instructor and/or Certified Shop. Once certified they may include the special “Technique of the Month’ quilts in their course program.

In addition to courses and workshops, they also give demonstrations during fairs and open days at wholesalers and companies.

They also exhibit at shows all over Europe.

I’m a mom from three daughters and my husband has a daughter and a son. We have 10 grandchildren en are living in a village in the south of the Netherlands in a warm community. We are part of a social life and I’m organizing for elderly people events.

I have been teaching for 25 years fashion and for 25 years patchwork. Now adays I’m restarting my classes and I love to do this. My students are enthusiastic as me. To spread patchwork is sharing love and warmth.

My daughters and grandchildren are coming to sew what ever they want. It is a lot of fun to share what I’m doing my whole life.

Hope to enjoy for an other 25 years to gather and sew.
