Since childhood, I have loved handcrafts, painting, and all kinds of creative activities. After studying at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University, I worked as a researcher at the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. However, because I wanted to spend as much time as possible with my three children, my husband and I set up a ceramics workshop in Štěchovice, and since then, we have earned our living by making ceramic miniatures.
Twenty years ago, I discovered the magic of patchwork and sewn fabrics. From pillows and quilts, I quickly moved on to sewing textile pictures, and that is what I still focus on today. I enjoy experimenting with various techniques and their combinations, playing with colors and shapes. I love the atmosphere of creative collaboration in the patchwork world, which is why in recent years I have organized exhibitions such as "Prague, the Mother of Cities," "My Homeland," and "Great-Grandfather's Car." For these collections, I not only sew my own quilts, but I also create original designs and patterns for quilts for my patchwork friends. We then exhibit our works both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
The Memories collection is a selection of my creations from the past few years.
Workshop: Squares and Silhouettes
During the exhibition, you can join my workshop Squares and Silhouettes, where we will create an image of birds perched on a branch.
First, we'll sew a colorfll background using 5x5 cm squares.
Based on a photo, we'll draw a pattern for the silhouette of birds on a branch, transfer it onto fabric, cut it out, and attach it to the prepared background using the fused applique technique.
This workshop is better suited for advanced participants and lasts approximately 3 hours.
The course will take place on Friday 25 April 2025 from 15:30 to 18:30.
You can buy your place here.
Capacity is limited, so don't hesitate to reserve your spot!
I look forward to seeing you there.
